A few years ago, I wasn’t sure what my future would look like.
At the time, I was struggling with major depression, anxiety, self-harm, an eating disorder, and suicidality. There were many moments when I wondered if things would ever get better.
A lot has changed since then. Somewhere along the way, life became about more than just making it through the day. Recovery didn’t magically solve all of my problems or make life easy, but it gave me the opportunity to start building a life that felt bigger than my struggles.
The truth is that recovery is often messy. There are still hard days, challenges, and things I’m learning. Recovery hasn’t meant becoming a completely different person or leaving every struggle behind. Instead, it’s taught me how to build a meaningful life while continuing to navigate the ups and downs that come with mental health challenges.
I started Authentically Grace because I wanted a place for honest conversations about mental health, treatment, recovery, and hope. Here you’ll find personal stories, things I’m learning along the way, resources that have helped me, and reflections on recovery, growth, and what it looks like to keep moving forward.
My hope is that this space helps bridge the gap between people living with mental illness and the people who want to understand it better.
Whether you’re struggling yourself, supporting someone you love, or simply hoping to learn more, you’re welcome here with open arms.
Most of all, I hope you leave feeling a little less alone.
I’m glad you’re here.
